About Me

Meet Angel - The Founder

My name is Angel Chukwunyekwam, and I’m a first generation Nigerian African American woman born in the U.S. to two immigrant parents. I was born with 4C hair that's thick, coily, and powerful yet is often neglected by the mainstream hair industry. But, like many others I grew up without seeing it truly represented or celebrated. My mom relaxed my hair when I was young because she didn’t have the knowledge or resources to properly care for it, and as I got older, I saw the damage those chemicals caused. By late elementary and early middle school, my hair was breaking, thinning, and becoming so damaged that it made me question my beauty and confidence. I no longer recognized the crown I was born with. So I made a bold decision: I did a big chop and started over. That natural hair journey reconnected me to myself and lit a fire in me to help others feel that same transformation.

Along the way, I realized how underrepresented and underserved 4C textures truly are not just in marketing, but in product performance too. Now, as a college student in STEM, I’ve combined my passion for science and self-love to create a brand that delivers real results for curly textures especially for my 4C-haired community. But this isn’t just about selling products. It’s about helping my girlies no matter your gender or identity feel as confident, seen, and powerful in their own skin as I do now. Everyone deserves to love their texture, to feel represented, and to have access to quality, honest care from someone who truly understands the journey.

Mission Statement

My mission is to build an inclusive haircare brand that empowers every curly-haired person, especially those with tightly coiled 4C textures through effective science-backed products and real representation. I want my community to not only see themselves in the brand, but to feel seen, supported, and unstoppable. Long term, I am committed to fighting environmental racism and the harm it causes in the Black haircare industry by promoting cleaner, safer, and more sustainable beauty practices.
